The New Glarus Schuetzen Fest 2007 Official Rules

The basis of the rules will be those stated in the NRA Sports Light Rifle Competition guide. Some rules are modified here to provide for a faster moving competition, variety of events and accomodation for people who find kneeling difficult.  We are attempting to make this event fun for the whole family.  All the rules stated here will be adhered to.  We are interested in promoting good sportsmanship and family fun.

There will be four shooting classes.  Rules for each class are below.

  1. Top Gun Shooters - This class is for those who are regular competition shooters.  If you wish to compare your score to those around the country, this category is for you.
    1. Peep or Open Sights
    2. Telescopic Sights
  2. Recreational Classes - This is for people who are out for fun rather than serious competition and will be treated as such.  Get your gun out of the gun safe and have some fun!  Shooters are in two classes
    1. Peep or Open Sights
    2. Telescopic Sights
    3. If you shot a very high score in Recreational last year or are a regular competitive shooter you will be automatically moved to the competitive class.
